缸筒的內徑大小代表了氣缸輸出力的大小。活塞要在缸筒內做平穩的往復滑動,缸筒內表面的表面粗糙度應達到Ra0.8μm。
SMC、 CM2氣缸活塞上采用組合密封圈實現雙向密封,活塞與活塞桿用壓鉚鏈接,不用螺母。
端蓋上設有進排氣通口,有的還在端蓋內設有緩沖機構。桿側端蓋上設有密封圈和防塵圈,以防止從活塞桿處向外漏氣和防止外部灰塵混入缸內。桿側端蓋上設有導向套,以提高氣缸的導向精度,承受活塞桿上少量的橫向負載,減小活塞桿伸出時的下彎量,延長氣缸使用壽命。導向套通常使用燒結含油合金、前傾銅鑄件。端蓋過去常用可鍛鑄鐵,為減輕重量并防銹,常使用鋁合金壓鑄,微型缸有使用黃銅材料的。

安沃馳氣缸氣缸是引導活塞在缸內進行直線往復運動的圓筒形金屬機件。工質在發動機氣缸中通過膨脹將熱能轉化為機械能;氣體在壓縮機氣缸中接受活塞壓縮而提高壓力。渦輪機、旋轉活塞式發動機等的殼體通常也稱“氣缸”。氣缸的應用領域:印刷(張力控制)、半導體(點焊機、芯片研磨)、自動化控制、機器人等等。 德國AVENTICS安沃馳氣缸與電子技術結合,大量使用傳感器,氣動元件智能化.帶開關的氣缸國內已普遍使用,開關體積將更小,性能更高,可嵌入氣缸缸體;有些還帶雙色顯示,可顯示出位置誤差,使系統更可靠。用傳感器代替流量計、壓力表、能自動控制壓縮空氣的流量、壓力,可以節能并保證使用裝置正常運行。氣動伺服定位系統已有產品進入市場。該系統采用三位五通氣動伺服閥,將預定的定位目標與位置傳感器的檢測數據進行比較,實施負反饋控制。氣缸速度達2m/s、行程300mm時,系統定位精度±0.1mm。日本試制成功一種新型智能電磁閥,這種閥配帶有傳感器的邏輯回路,是氣動元件與光電子技術結合的產物。它能直接接受傳感器的信號,當信號滿足條件時,不必通過外部控制器,即可自行完成動作,達到控制目的。它已經應用在物體的傳送帶上,能識別搬運物體的大小,使大件直接下送,小件分流。
